Global Markets*: Global benchmark indices at the Wallstreet were hovering in green zone with the broader index S&P 500 index surged by 27.97 points or 0.96% to 2,938.60, the price-weighted Dow Jones Industrial Average Index accelerated by 233.99 points or 0.89% to 26,435.03 and the Nasdaq Composite index edged up by 80.55 points or 1.02% to 7,952.82 (at the time of writing 01:35 PM ET).

Global News*: On 4th October 2019, the Wallstreet opened higher after some data showed some increase in the growth of jobs for the month of September. Technology stocks were buzzing the most again. Apple was up 1.70 per cent after it was announced that the company will increase the production of its iPhone 11 model by 10 per cent. HP fell by 8.26 per cent in comparison with the previous close, after the company reported that they will be cutting down 9,000 jobs or 16 per cent of its workforce (restructuring plan) to boost profitability. Tesla shares were down for a second day in a row by 0.81 per cent following news reports that European car sales for American automakers will be falling short because of low demand due to the uncertainties surrounding the Brexit. Also, stocks of BMW were down 1.58 per cent after an announcement made by the company about stopping production for two days at its Mini Plant in oxford.

Top Performers: Titan Pharmaceuticals Inc (+39.72%), Exela Technologies Inc (+31.82%) and SG Blocks Inc (28.21%) are top gainers.

European Markets: FTSE 100 (London’s broader equity benchmark index) zoomed by 77.74 points or 1.10% at 7,155.38, the FTSE 250 index accelerated by 132.21 points or 0.68% higher at 19,480.37, and the FTSE All-Share Index ended 39.37 points or 1.01% up at 3,933.15 respectively. Another European equity benchmark index STOXX 600 ended at 380.22, up by 2.76 points or 0.73 per cent.

European News*: According to government papers submitted to a Scottish court, the administration of Prime Minister Boris Johnson would ask for a Brexit delay if no divorce agreement has been agreed with the European Union by 19 October, a stark contrast to the position held by the PM till now. Anti-Brexiteers have sought the interference of judges to ensure that Mr Johnson does not circumvent the law passed by parliament requiring him to delay Brexit in case no deal is agreed, as he has repeatedly said that he will not ask for any delay and that Britain will leave the EU anyway by the deadline. A survey of 6,600 companies by the British Chambers of Commerce showed the most significant drop in manufacturing export orders in 10 years and reported that manufacturing sales fell at the fastest pace since late 2011.
